  1. I perceive the vision and mission of the blog is to learn more about the political world and to offer your opinion. Learning more about the political world has been done by looking at various articles from the Denver Post and other sources you have posted on the blog. Your own insights have been incorporated by the other sources as well.

What I find to be the entertaining components of this blog are the links to various articles and the video of a speech. They are very interesting to read and watch. They help incorporate your thoughts. I really found the blog on how the government and private sector intersect compelling. The last paragraph I agree with. I too wouldn’t mind paying higher taxes if it means we are getting high quality professionals in important jobs such as doctors and teachers. Also, I like the critical questions you have asked. The concern is how much does the government regulate and when do they step back and allow the company to decide what to do are excellent questions. It could start a good discussion.

An area that could be improved upon is the graphics. I was looking at all the blog entries and didn’t see any images. I see a video you can watch on the right side but no political cartoons, images that have to do with the blog, or images that are symbolic to the blog. I think it would help incorporate everything you have written with images. Another idea is to have more videos. How about posting different videos on the different subjects we are talking about? That is just a thought.

All in all, I think this is a good blog. You offer your exact opinion. That is something that every blog needs to have. It is after all not a political blog if it’s not your take on the political world. I like how you have posted links to articles from the Denver Post and other sources on the blog. Again, that is important to do because they offer actual stories about what is happening and we all can learn things from it. The only thing missing is images.

  3. The perceived mission and vision of this blog is just what it says on the blog. A stay at home mom’s perspective on Government, while at the same time trying to learn about government and the role that it plays. This is also integrated with personal views on certain issues going on around us right now.

I enjoy the fact that you actually post to your blog on a weekly basis with some extra news articles stuck in between the weekly mandatory postings. When you do blog I like how you speak or write your mind, I get a pretty good understanding of what your thoughts are. I really like the idea of the critical review sections on your blog and will probably be steeling that idea from you. So I just want to give credit where credit is due. I like the look of the blog, very clean and easy to read, and I also like the title of the blog as well. Overall I like how the blog is being presented. It looks and feels very clean and easy to read for me.

One of the areas where I would try to improve your blog would be to provide some type of a news feed for information that is important to you. I’m a big reader of news sites and just sometimes like seeing what stories pop up. It might also give readers a better understand of what interests you and where you are coming from when writing your blog entries.

Overall I really like the layout of your blog. It’s clean and very easy to read. I enjoy reading your opinions and the fact that you’re not afraid or concerned about writing them. Even though we will probably disagree on many topics in this class it is still nice to get your perspective. Like stated before, I like the blog layout. The only thing that I would add would be some type of a news feed of things that interest you. I believe it gives readers a better understanding of where you might be coming from.

  4. I think that Ginny has really developed her blog to reflect her thoughts and commentaries. Based on the amount of work she is continually putting into developing her blog, it is clear that she has embraced this project and her spirit is unmistakably expressed. Ginny does a nice job of not only providing her personal opinions, but also videos, articles and other outside resources to her viewers. Her mission of providing a balanced appeal is evident in her blog’s layout.

This blog is much more developed than other classmates. She has a little of everything for everyone. She has added eye-catching graphics, polls, personal blogs as well as outside resources. Her cartoons are really funny and do a nice job of drawing a viewer into her world. Not only does she have a header at the top for her Critiques, but also provided a blog today that allows persons to comment through that variation. She is definitely intending to be user friendly and that viewpoint is clearly conveyed.

If there is a downside to all of this, it would be that there’s a lot going on visually and it can be overwhelming to the eyes. Her backdrop is muted colors, she has a personal picture, her cartoon is primary colored, there’s a video at the top, and her blogs have multiple colors. I must admit that I usually stop halfway down the page because it’s too much for me.

Overall, I think she has done an outstanding job and should be commened. I wish my blog was this well developed and I would actually seek her out for opinions on improving my own. Nice job!

  5. The Blog I am reviewing is Ginny Phelps’s Blog(entry on Feb 8th) The blog is titled “How do the Government and Private Sector intersect” After reading this blog I felt as if Ginny was very knowledgeable on the subject and I believe she is a very credible source. In this blog the main point was the private sectors and government intertwine, they need each other to function, and for a good economy. The blog gets right to the point right away; she tells the readers the answer to the question and then backs up her answer.
The entire blog page catches my eye! The page has more than just the required posts, there is lots of creativity; it has extra posts, pictures, and polls. One thing I really like about this blog is the title, “Government from a Stay at Home Mom’s perspective.” Strengths in your blog posts include when you define the words and give examples. You don’t just state something then move on, you give a statement followed by an example. “Government and the private sector intersect because without government regulations the large private companies would run out of control and eventually fail. When companies are allowed to do as they wish it makes for a poor economy. Low wages, poor working conditions, monopolies, and unregulated workers (meaning children) are just some of the results of having no government regulations.”
Some things I think could be better in this blog page is more pictures or videos to represent your blog posting. Maybe if you added more quotes and detail. Also If you added things you learned from the book.
Overall I really think you are doing a good job on your blog. I love your title of your blog and I think your blog postings are very good. Something I think you can do tto improve you blog is insert something’s you learned from the book and also quotes. Keep up the good work!

  6. Well I think that your mission was very easy to find, on the top under about me. I also like how it is sweet and to the point. Given my background on politics and the government I dont like to search for things and read a lot of it! However, the little questionnaire that is right under it, I wouldn't have it there. I would move it to the other side where it can be seen more as a fun option.

Right off hand when I first looked at your blog, I thought that it needed to be more fun. You have a few little things at the top, but I would add videos, articles, pictures etc, all over all your posts because it makes it more interesting and can back up the things that you are writing about. Plus like I said earlier, for a person like me who doesnt have interest in this stuff, would understand and make more effort to see what you wrote and what fun stuff you added. That video you have of the working class is awesome though and should stay right there at the top because it is SO true and again to the point! Another thing that I like and took interest to was the name of your blog because I am a stay at home mom too and I know that moms like us cling to stuff like that because its our communication!

Overall, I think that your blog looks nice and it seems like you are putting a lot of effort into it. Kepp up the good work!
